I have spent the evening watching The Eurovision Song Contest – a guilty pleasure (for this I blame Gaz-W, a huge Terry Wogan fan). Not bothered about the result – the performances were pretty dismal – but Terry’s comments gave me a good laugh.

The review on the Telegraph site “The banal, the bizarre and the downright barking” gives a good sense of the occasion, as seen on BBC1.

The winner, the Greek contestant, Helena Paparizou (“The last time I saw a pair of legs like that, they were in a nest,” said Terry, confusingly).
