Humpty comes out of retirement

Play School’s Humpty, who starred in the programme for 24 years (from 1964-88), has come out of retirement for a new version of the show which is being recreated for a Maori audience.

He was tracked down in 2003 to an office in Newport, Wales, where he was ‘resting’ after a second career as a toy for the children of a former presenter.

Humpty will now be known as Hamuti Tamuti
