Tarantula feet spin sticky silk

“Tarantulas have microscopic nozzle-like structures on their feet that secrete a viscous silk-like filament.”

The discovery is the first evidence of a spider species that uses silk for locomotion.

How it wasn’t noticed before is something of a puzzle to me.
